Why should I use webTOD instead of PDOC and webRAS?

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) provides a free-to-use payroll tax deductions calculator on their website called Payroll Deductions Online Calculator (PDOC).   PDOC can be used to calculate all federal and provincial/territorial (except Québec) payroll tax deductions that are required to be withheld by employers from employee payrolls and remitted to CRA.  PDOC will NOT calculate payroll tax deductions that are required to be withheld by employers in Québec and remitted to Revenu Québec.

Revenu Québec (RQ) provides a free-to-use payroll tax deductions calculator on their website called webRAS.  webRAS can be used to calculate all Québec payroll tax deductions that are required to be withheld by Québec employers from employee payrolls and remitted to RQ.  webRAS will NOT calculate payroll tax deductions that are required to be withheld by all Canadian employers and remitted to CRA.

webTOD is a free-to-use Canadian payroll tax deductions calculator that can be used to calculate all CRA and RQ required deductions (if applicable) in one calculation.  Using webTOD, there is no need to perform separate calculations using PDOC and webRAS if you are an employer in Québec.

We think webTOD is much simpler to use than both PDOC and webRAS, and provides a more comprehensive, intuitive and user-friendly interface.  webTOD includes functionality for some taxable deductions and credits that are not included in PDOC, including the credit for purchases of labour-sponsored fund units.  webTOD's simple user interface in Quick mode allows users to complete their calculations much more quickly than the multi-page interfaces utilized by both PDOC and webRAS.
